A magnificent historical building dating back to the 12th Century, this stunning castle has been almost entirely renovated with some small works to finish. Glorious mountain views. Sitting above a pretty town with access to all local amenities
With glorious mountain views, the castle sits above a pretty town with access to all local amenities. Carcassonne is served by an airport as well as excellent road links into the rest of France, Spain and the Pyrenees.
Incorporating a magnificent Knights Hall and an interior courtyard, this castle is truly extraordinary. The elevations, roofs, main hall and chimney of the main hall are included in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments (ISMH). The following works have been carried out:
- All new slate roofs
- New electrics, new plumbing
- All the wood is in Chestnut or Oak, Red Cedar shutters
- New windows
- Walls have all been re-pointed and beautifully finished
Most of the renovations have been completed and once finalised the chateau will offer 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 6 reception rooms.
The internal walls have either exposed stone, lime rendering or plasterboard. Whilst there is underfloor heating in a few sections of the house, elsewhere there are electric radiators in most of the rooms as well as 9 chimneys and fireplaces throughout.
There is a private garden and terrace and it would be possible to put in a garage and a swimming pool if required. There is also an annexe in the garden.
